Soccer for so many of us (me included!) is almost like a lifeline. Yes, even if majority of those many might not be playing the game, we surely follow it with all our passion and zeal, right? The way we, the spectators, are enthralled by the masters, is just almost enough to make us go spell bound! Be it Ronaldo, Kaka, or Zinedine Zidane – thanks to their football skills, soccer is a thing you would not want to miss out. If we all love the game so much, then why not check out what would be some of the soccer tricks which make these players click and rule the pitch?
Soccer Tricks and Moves
Stall it
They say that “Soccer is simple, but it is difficult to play simple”. So I will start off with a simple trick. This is called foot stall. Simply put, it is just balancing the ball on your foot. You begin with the soccer ball on your foot and then once it is stable on your foot, try and balance it for as much time as possible. When you start losing control, flick it and then catch it. It is important to practice this one with both feet! A variation of this is to stall the ball on the knee or perhaps behind your neck. Soccer tricks for kids can surely include this one!
Cut it Off
This following trick is called the scissors, I guess very frequently done by Cristiano Ronaldo. It is one of the most basic amongst soccer moves list. For this, a player sidesteps around the ball with the part of the foot moving past the ball is the outer part. Then he rotates his foot around the ball for 360 degrees. That is followed up by breaking the ball in the desired direction. Read more on soccer tricks and moves.
Step Towards a Goal
Step over is another of the cool soccer tricks. It is similar to the scissors, except for the fact that it is opposite of the scissors. The player pretends as if he is going to kick the ball or perhaps dribble using the inside of the foot. But the player has something else in mind. He brings the foot past the ball and then does a 360 rotation around the ball.
John Cruyff – The Master
Introduced by John Cruyff, this trick has to be an inevitable part of any soccer tricks list. It is easy to learn and can have a considerable impact too. Here, the player would appear as if he is passing or kicking the ball. However, rather than doing that, the player would drag the ball behind his stable or planted foot, followed by a 180 degree turn. Subsequently, the player would accelerate away, past and outside a flabbergasted defender. Isn’t it one of those must know soccer tricks? This move truly reflects what this quote says- “The most important thing for a forward is speed of thought. Top players read the game“. Read more on soccer tricks – how to do them.
Around the World
The credit for this move goes to Ronaldo. This soccer trick is named so as it appears like the foot is rotated completely around the ball. One of the amazing soccer tricks, you cannot miss this one. The player has the ball on his feet, akin to the Stall. The player then lifts his foot slightly, giving it a light flick when it is coming off the top of his foot. It is followed by the player turning his foot around the ball as he starts to lift it.
